Thank you so much for your interest in giving Bezzuby a forever home! Before we take the next steps with your meet and greet we did want to take a moment to discuss Bezzuby’s medical condition of FIV.

FIV stands for feline immunodeficiency virus. FIV typically causes a weakening of the cat’s immune system. It is the same class of virus as HIV (a lentivirus); however, only cats can get FIV. People and dogs cannot. FIV can only be transmitted via a deep bite wound and is not transmitted via normal contact. Cats with FIV can live normal and happy lives in households with other Non-FIV cats. Cats who are infected with FIV may not show symptoms until years after the initial infection occurred. Although the virus is slow-acting, a cat’s immune system is severely weakened once the disease takes hold. This makes the cat susceptible to various secondary infections.

Infected cats who receive supportive medical care and are kept in a stress-free, indoor environment can live relatively comfortable lives for years before the disease reaches its chronic stages.

If you do choose to adopt Bezzuby it will be important to have a working relationship with a vet (as a rescue, we use San Tan Animal Hospital) and if any signs of illness start to show it will be important to make sure that you call your vet and/or take Bezzuby to be seen. FIV kitties are amazing and typically live full lives. Bezzuby is a very healthy kitty who will make an amazing pet for a special family.

Howdy, I’m Bezzuby

My favorite thing to do is I am a little country gal. I was found homeless, toothless, Pregnant in a trailer park. Some wonderful people found me and gave me a safe, and cozy place to stay and have my kittens. My kittens have all been adopted so it’s just me now.

What makes me special is I am a very sweet and a bit shy. However if you are patient with me and bring food, we can be buddies. I love the indoor life! I just love sleeping on my foster mom’s bed. I love tasty wet food, and you mice.

I want my new owner to know I do not have teeth so I will need wet food. I will also drool when I get lots of attention. I have been known to be so overwhelmed by affection that I have rolled off the bed. I love waking my foster mom every morning by sitting on her side and meowing. Someone has to get up to feed me. Sometimes I just want to cuddle next to you if you hold my paw. If you are in the bathroom, expect my visits!

When I am feeling playful I like to…I love toy mice! I do carry them in my mouth and put them on the bed. They may get a bit of drool on them. Don’t worry, I’ll share them with you. I also love the laser pointer. When it is time to rest I sleep I will sleep curled up next to my foster mom or on the bed by myself.

I am good with[Kids, Cats], I am not good with or unsure around [Dogs]

By nature I am… [Cuddly, Shy, Affectionate, I like to be held].
