You Are Needed!

AZ CARE Rescue is looking for volunteers who are as passionate about animals as we are and want to partner with our rescue to work to reduce the euthanasia rate in our state. We are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation which operates a no kill rescue and foster care program for stray, abandoned and neglected dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens. Interns with a variety of skills are needed to ensure the success of our rescue – only together can we make the difference in their lives!

Volunteer Positions Needed

 

Job Title:PetSmart Habitat Volunteer
Location:Queen Creek Habitat, PetSmart
Immediate Supervisor: Habitat Manager: Nora Long
Board Supervisor:Secretary: Alison White

 

Job Summary:

PetSmart Habitat volunteers work in morning or evening shifts at the Queen Creek PetSmart cleaning, maintaining, and spending time with the animals on site. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning the habitat (litter boxes etc.)
  • Feeding pets
  • Playing and loving on the pets in the habitat

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

  • Willingness to learn
  • Love for cats
  • Good communication

AZ Center for Animal Rescue and Education (AZ CARE) is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit all breed dog and cat rescue in Arizona. We are dedicated to reducing the euthanasia rate in our state through education, spay/neuter programs and adoption events. Our network of foster homes provides a safe haven for dogs/cats while they wait for their forever homes. Our education programs will include youth programs to get the next generation involved in the pet overpopulation epidemic and strive to find a way to end the suffering in our shelters, state and nationwide. Job Title:AZ CARE Pet Photographer
Location:In Person
Immediate Supervisor: Dominique Walker

 

Job Summary:

Do you love animals? Do you love taking photos of animals? Do you have some amazing photography skills? We are always looking for talent who wants to help the animals in a unique way. Join our creative team!

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Take Photos 
  • Upload image files to designated location
  • Estimated 3 hours of volunteer time per week

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

  • Willingness to learn
  • Eye for detail
  • Quality Camera
  • Good sense of humor

Calling all creative minds! If you are a student who is seeking to build your portfolio, this is a great opportunity to use your creative talent and gain professional experience. AZ CARE Rescue is seeking a GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN to join our team. We are looking for interns who are as passionate about animals as we are and want to partner with our rescue to work to reduce the euthanasia rate in our state.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Participate in the brainstorming and creation of concepts
  • Create Posters, Fliers, and other digital marketing materials
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director on projects

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

  • Ability to keep projects on track creatively and in accordance with production deadlines
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • A positive attitude and flexibility for last-minute changes
  • Required: Knowledge and proficiency of Photoshop
  • Preferred but not required: Knowledge and proficiency in Illustrator and InDesign

Job Title:AZ CARE Intern: Grant Writer

Job Summary:

Calling all proficient writers! If you are a student who is looking to learn about applying your skills towards grant writing, this is a great opportunity to use your writing and researching skills and gain professional experience. AZ CARE Rescue is seeking a GRANT WRITING INTERN to join our team. We are looking for interns who are as passionate about animals as we are and want to partner with our rescue to work to reduce the euthanasia rate in our state.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Developing and writing high-quality grant proposals (including narratives, budgets, financials, incorporating relevant and current statistics, funder requirements, and other supporting documentation)
  • Researching new grant prospects and ensuring alignment with current program priorities, strategic plan, initiatives, and mission
  • Partners with board of directors to compile financials and data in support of grant applications
  • Coordinates with the board of directors to maintain organized and accurate electronic grant files
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents (such as accreditation requirements, agency funding guidelines, procedure manuals)
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Update and maintain AZ CARE Website 
  • Make changes and create pages as requested from the board
  • Estimated 3 hours of volunteer time per week – maybe more during the height of kitten season

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

  • Willingness to learn
  • Proficient in WordPress
  • Understanding of Website code
  • Good sense of humor
