Hello, I’m Hachi

My favorite thing to do is pounce! I am a super energetic and playful boy, now that I am feeling so good. I was pretty skinny, but I love to eat and I’m packing it all on!

What makes me special is I was found in a Fry’s parking lot. I was lost and I really, really needed something to eat. I ran right up to people with their carts full of food and asked them if they had anything in their bags that a hungry, skinny little kitty could eat. I looked at them with my big eyes and gave them my best meow to ask for food. Fortunately for me I ran up to the right kind of people. These sweet people brought me home and fed me lots and their neighbor helped them get me to AZCare Rescue so I could get all the care- and all the right food!- I need to be ready for a forever family.

I want my new owner to know I am a very playful boy and would love a second, rambunctious kitty to wrestle with. I also like to play with kids. I am not so sure about dogs yet, but I am quickly learning that the nice ones aren’t so scary. My foster family says I should be fine in a home with dogs, and I think so, too. But if they startle me, hisssss! I can be fierce. My foster family says I float like a butterfly and sting like a bee, which is why my name is Hachi. That’s Japanese for Bee. The kids love to play with me because I am so active.

When I am feeling playful I like to…everything! Everything is a toy to me. Other kitties, your socks, shoestrings, mice toys… I’ll chase and pounce and play all day until I totally wear myself out. When it is time to rest I sleep When I finally get tired I tend to just collapse wherever I am sitting. In the food dish, in a lap, in the middle of the floor… but I do like cat trees with a little kitty condo to curl up in, and I like soft places too. It all beats parking lots! I love being an inside kitty.
