Hello, I’m Alec Benjamin

My favorite thing to do is hide, maybe? Pay no attention to me. I know, I know. I have adorable eyes and I look like an itty bitty bobcat. I’m irresistible, but I’m also a little bit scared. But wait… do you have good things to eat? Nice place to sleep? A fun toy? I might, ya know, come out and snack and play with you.

What makes me special is I have a little limp. I came from the animal shelter that way, and I’ve likely had my limp forever. It doesn’t hurt and it doesn’t slow me down. Sometimes it is hardly noticeable at all. I can climb, play, run, and jump with the best of them. My foster family thinks that it must have been painful at one point and that might past injury made me much more cautious, so I take a little while to adapt to new people, other animals, and new places.

I want my new owner to know that although I am shy at first I really am a sweet boy. Not a mean bone in me, and I’m actually starting to really like being in a home with other kitties to play with and people to spoil me. The other cats are fun to follow around, the dogs are… okay I guess, and the people dangle toys for me and bring me treats so I am starting to really warm up to them. I need a nice home where people will continue to help me be comfortable and feel safe.

When I am feeling playful I like to…pounce on toy mice, play with my siblings or another cat, or chase balls. When it is time to rest I sleep I like to sleep curled up in cozy places where I can feel a little hidden and secure. Don’t worry… I’ll come out to say hello and to get anything tasty.
