Hi there, I’m Pantera!
My favorite thing to do is… Purr!!! I’m a purr machine!! The second you pet me or pick me up, I’m purring.
What makes me special is… I am so sweet. While my brothers and sisters a running amok, I will lay on your chest and just cuddle away.
I want my new owner to know… I would like a lot of love! And also probably like to have another animal friend, or even my sister, in my new home. I’m used to a big family!
When I am feeling playful I like to.. (favorite toys): Play with toys. Usually jingle balls that roll, or wand toys, or brooms.
Where do I sleep? I sleep cuddled with my siblings right now. So if you adopt me, I’d like to sleep cuddled with you.
I am good with: Cats, Dogs, and Kids
By nature I am… Energetic, Cuddly, Playful, Social, Affectionate, Curious, and I like to be held
Thank you so much for your interest in giving Pantera a forever home! Before we take the next steps with your meet and greet we did want to take a moment to discuss Pantera’s medical condition of FIV.
FIV stands for feline immunodeficiency virus. FIV typically causes a weakening of the cat’s immune system. It is the same class of virus as HIV (a lentivirus); however, only cats can get FIV. People and dogs cannot. FIV can only be transmitted via a deep bite wound and is not transmitted via normal contact. Cats with FIV can live normal and happy lives in households with other Non-FIV cats. Cats who are infected with FIV may not show symptoms until years after the initial infection occurred. Although the virus is slow-acting, a cat’s immune system is severely weakened once the disease takes hold. This makes the cat susceptible to various secondary infections.
Infected cats who receive supportive medical care and are kept in a stress-free, indoor environment can live relatively comfortable lives for years before the disease reaches its chronic stages.
If you do choose to adopt Pantera, it will be important to have a working relationship with a vet (as a rescue, we use San Tan Animal Hospital) and if any signs of illness start to show it will be important to make sure that you call your vet and/or take Pantera in to be seen. FIV kitties are amazing and typically live full lives. Pantera is a very healthy kitty who will make an amazing pet for a special family.
