Hello, I’m Daffodil!

My favorite thing to do is be petted and held. I’m a lap cat. I also love kitty squeeze treats, like the chicken flavored Delectibles.

What makes me special is I was spotted hiding around some large storage containers at a high school. People would feed me. I was bold enough to let them watch me play with leaves from the other side of a chain link fence, but if people tried to get close, zip! Away I would go. Anyway, one day I went to get some food someone left in a box for me, but when I went to eat, the box closed, and I was trapped! That was a really scary day for me, but once I was brought into a foster home, I very quickly decided I liked being held, petted, and pampered. The food is pretty good, and I have a kitten friend to be with. It sure beats my previous lonely life.

I want my new owner to know I get along well with other kitties after a slow introduction. My caution kept me safe previously, and I haven’t completely let go of that. Once I feel comfortable in a new environment, I quickly warm up to new friends of all kinds. I haven’t formally met the dog yet, so the jury is out there, but I’ve sniffed noses with her through the door and so far I think a mellow dog would make an ok companion as well. I’ve been gentle with the kids I’ve met, but don’t necessarily want to be carried around everywhere. I like it when they pet me or play with me.

When I am feeling playful I like to… Chase rolly balls and bat at wand toys. When it is time to rest I sleep curled up anywhere soft and cozy. It sure beats the dirty hole underneath the storage container where I was!
