Shrub is a special cat that has a story to tell. He is one of our FIV positive kitties. And although one might assume that would make him act sick…it does not. He is charming and loves cuddles. Some of our youth volunteers consider him one of their favorites and look for him on event days. He loves the attention and gets excited quickly to see them. He has a strong appetite and will need to be monitored to stay at a healthy weight. He is not a fan of dogs and has his favorite cats, but not all of them make the cut. Loves his scratching post and tons of cuddles. Would be a great single cat companion to a sedentary individual. FIV is not something humans catch from cats.
The before and after photos pictured above come from one of our rescues lovingly dubbed “Shrub”. This sweet boy was very injured when he was brought into care and, upon an examination at the vet, x-rays showed that he had been shot with bb’s, one in a leg and two in the face. He has gotten the medical attention he so desperately needed and will have a new life away from the cruelty of the streets as a loved house cat. This sweet boy also tested positive for FIV, however this kitty can still live a normal life with proper medical & dental monitoring. His adoption fee will reflect his special needs.
